A truly responsive Association cares not only about how lawyers practise, but also about how they live. Wellbeing, inclusion, family support, and mental resilience are no longer peripheral concerns; they are essential to a thriving profession.

My administration will build a welfare system that is compassionate, inclusive, and designed around the realities of modern legal practice.

Our Priorities

Health, Insurance and Emergency Support

We will strengthen access to healthcare, insurance partnerships, emergency assistance, and welfare interventions that provide meaningful support when members face unexpected personal or professional challenges.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

The pressures of legal practice are real. My administration will prioritise mental health support, wellbeing initiatives, and confidential avenues through which lawyers can seek help without stigma.

Supporting Families

A modern profession must support modern families. We will advocate for six-month paid maternity leave, family-friendly workplace policies, childcare support, nursing facilities, and healthier working environments that enable lawyers to balance professional excellence with family life.

Building an Inclusive Bar

No lawyer should ever feel invisible within their own Association. We will strengthen representation for women, young lawyers, lawyers with disabilities, academics, in-house counsel, law officers, and lawyers pursuing alternative career paths, ensuring every constituency has a meaningful voice in the affairs of the NBA.

Promoting Equity and Leadership

We will create stronger pathways for women and underrepresented groups to assume leadership positions, institutionalise diversity in appointments, strengthen anti-harassment mechanisms, and expand opportunities for mentorship and professional advancement.

Listening to Members

Leadership begins with listening. My administration will establish regular national engagement platforms, member consultations, and structured feedback mechanisms that keep the Association responsive, accountable, and connected to its members.
